    What a difference a year makes. After releasing the thoroughly disappointing Come an’ Get It, Whitesnake made up for it in spades with 1982’s excellent Saints & Sinners, their best record yet. Perhaps it was the arrival of new guitarist Mel Galley (replacing founding member Bernie Marsden) that re-energized the band.

    The dull, midtempo numbers of recent years were largely gone, replaced by rowdy bursts of bluesy aggression like “Rough an’ Ready,” “Bloody Luxury,” and the downright nasty “Young Blood.” David Coverdale also reached new heights with the astounding heavy blues of “Crying in the Rain” (a lyrical relative to Elmore James’ “The Sun Is Shining” if there ever was one) and the timeless power ballad “Here I Go Again.” Most Americans only came to know these songs when they were butchered into ridiculous power metal five years later, but for true Whitesnake fans, these original versions make Saints & Sinners well worth seeking out.

    An art photographer becomes convinced that the cabin on his new country property is haunted when the spirit of the deceased sorceress who once lived there begins to manifest itself in a variety of deadly and terrifying ways. Convinced to move to the country with his wife Helen (Maxine Bahns) in order to contend with the loss of their stillborn baby, Shawn Burnett (Andrew Bowen) experiences a series of disturbing events around his property that all seem to tie back to that decrepit old shack. According to the locals, a malevolent conjurer once lived in the cabin, and her vengeful spirit still dwells there. At first Shawn is skeptical, but when disturbing echoes of his troubled past reverberate into the present, he becomes convinced that forces beyond his understanding are at work.

    Group DOCUMENT released an interesting horror few moments ago: Conjurer already managed to win two prizes at various film festivals and although its IMDB rating isn???????t too high, it promises an unusual horror experience. The main role is played by Andrew Bowen who is accompanied by cute Maxine Bahns. Standard 1 CD quality 4 days before the street date.

Through his discoveries beneath the sea, Haeckel eventually reconciled these dualities, bringing science and art together in a unitary, almost mystical vision. His work profoundly influenced not only biology but also movements, thinkers and authors as disparate as Art Nouveau and Surrealism, Sigmund Freud and D.H. Lawrence, Vladimir Lenin and Thomas Edison.

    The key to Haeckel s vision was a tiny undersea organism called the radiolarian, one of the earliest forms of life. Haeckel discovered, described, classified and painted four thousand species of these one celled creatures. In their intricate geometric skeletons, seemingly infinite variety and stunning beauty, Haeckel saw the future possibilities of organic and created life.

    20 years in the making and based almost entirely on images of nineteenth century painters, photographers and scientific illustrators, PROTEUS brings these undersea worlds to life in a visually stunning fusion of art, cinema and science (David Caron, Chair of Biological Sciences, USC).
